Website transformation boosts internet presence for Bournemouth company

A website makeover from Freshleaf has sent Bournemouth-based Lasermet’s products to the top of the search engine rankings in just three months.

Laser safety specialist Lasermet provides products such as goggles and blocking curtains and consultancy to an international market, and relies heavily on an effective web presence for sales. Previous efforts to improve the site had always been rewarded with increased turnover, but at the start of 2006 MD Paul Tozer felt the company had reached the limits of its in-house web expertise.

“I was impressed with Freshleaf’s client portfolio, and decided to see what more a professional website development company could do for us”, explains Paul Tozer. “The results really have exceeded our expectations – not only do we have a more attractive and customer-friendly site, but important keywords that simply did not appear in the results at all are now top of the listings. These guys have delivered a quantum change in web presence!”

Freshleaf’s original brief was to update the company's corporate website with a new standards- compliant and accessible design, and to provide a self-edit system that Lasermet could use in-house to maintain the site easily.

The team redesigned the site in a highly search-engine friendly fashion, with dramatic results: since its launch in May this year, it has achieved nearly 400 brand new keyword placements in search engines, and improved the position of many existing keywords. As an example, "laser interlock installation" was ranked at 40 on Google (too far down for anyone but the most diligent to notice) and now appears in the number one slot. And "IPL patient eyewear", previously absent from the listings, now appears at number one on nearly every major search engine.

Freshleaf will continue to run an SEO programme for Lasermet, to ensure that the company maintains its lead in the rankings.
