Charitable giving

Freshleaf is pleased to give something back to the communities in which we work by actively supporting a number of charities. As the company grows and becomes more profitable, so the charities we support benefit too.

The 10% rule

Freshleaf gives 10% of its profits to good causes. This year we're excited to support our local pre-school and first school by paying for essential repairs and providing a maths games library for the children. We have also made donations to national and international charities to support their work.

Loans that change lives

All of us at Freshleaf have access to a Kiva account so that they can choose to lend money from Freshleaf to entrepreneurs in the 3rd world. Kiva connects people through lending to alleviate poverty. This year we have made 20 loans to people around the world including a Mongolian taxi driver, a Ugandan shop owner and a Nicaraguan farmer!

Pro Bono websites

In addition to our financial support, we look for opportunities to support good causes with our time and resources. And what better way to do this than for us to provide free websites and website services. Let us know if you can think of someone who might need some help with their website.

Community Days

All of us at Freshleaf are given paid time off-work to volunteer our time to good causes locally. If you have a project that needs an extra pair of hands, why not let us know and we may be able to help. We'll consider anything whether it be picking up litter or painting a school!

Our ethical policy

Environmental Policy

Freshleaf cares about the world we live in and wants to minimise its impact on the environment. Our environmental policy encourages all staff to take positive steps to help keep the world a clean and healthy place to live. This policy includes (but is not limited to) efficient use of energy, efficient use of resources, and recycling.

  • Freshleaf is committed to efficient use of resources; which includes paper and inks. Freshleaf’s company stationery has been printed on Forestry Standard endorsed paper using 50% recycled and 50% sustainable sources using environmentally friendly soy-based organic inks.
  • Freshleaf is committed to efficient use of energy, such as switching off heating and lighting overnight and when not required, and switching off appliances when not required.
  • Freshleaf is committed to recycling where possible, and we currently have facilities to recycle paper & cardboard, aluminium, plastics, glass, ink cartridges and batteries.

Support 10:10

Freshleaf supports the 10:10 campaign, which aims to reduce emissions by 10% by 2010.
