What is web 2.0 anyway?

It’s one of the latest web buzzwords, which you’ll almost certainly have come across in articles and blog posts if you have even a passing interest in all things internet. But what does it actually mean, and is it even a meaningful concept?

Well, as far as I can figure it out (and feel free to correct me if I'm missing something) it starts from the point of view of the internet as a platform, and focuses on the right way of doing things on that platform: in short, understanding the web as a medium and fully embracing its strengths.
